Cascade Christian Academy welcomed three new members this year to our great team of teachers. Michelle Bechtel and John and Cristina Grys have joined our team for the 2010–2011 school year.
Michelle Bechtel is teaching physical education for kindergarten through 12th grade. She also will be directing the athletic program and will be teaching Spanish to elementary students. Bechtel comes to CCA from Bishop, Calif., where she spent the previous three years teaching grades 1 through 4 at Bishop Adventist School. Bechtel graduated from Walla Walla University in 1997 with a B.S. in elementary education and a minor in physical education. She has also served as the girl’s director at Camp MiVoden for the past four summers. Bechtel enjoys time spent with her two dogs, Higgins and Kypris.
John and Cristina Grys are joining the CCA family from Napa, Calif. John served at the Napa Church as an associate for the past three years. He will be taking over the associate and youth pastor position at the Wenatchee Church and will be helping out at the school with the junior and senior Bible class. Cristina has taken the reigns of the chaplaincy at CCA as well as teaching freshman and sophomore Bible and our high school Spanish classes. Cristina graduated from Walla Walla University in 1988 with a double major in music and theology. The following year she received her master's degree in religious education from Andrews University. The Gry’s have two boys, Cristofer and Jason, an eighth grader and junior at CCA respectively.
We are excited to welcome our new staff members to the Wenatchee Valley and look forward to enjoying their ministry to our school and church.
