A Vacation Bible School program at the Eagle Church illustrated to children in the Eagle community God's Big Backyard is anywhere and everywhere.
Between July 7–11, nearly 60 children watched Alex and Stanley (Jodi Geim and Tim Roosenberg, pastor) get themselves out of difficult situations every evening mostly created by Cooper, their canine friend, and his pal Nick, the squirrel.
Children loved singing songs, making crafts and playing water games on the front lawn.
In the Community Corner, they had visits from Larry Gebert of Channel 7 News, the Eagle Fire Department, the local Zamzows, the Eagle Food Bank and David Schmitz, a physician and Eagle church member. They learned each one could serve their family, friends, neighbors, community and Jesus—just like people in the Bible did.
During craft time, children wrote personal messages and drew pictures on a 25-foot nylon parachute to be given to the Women and Children's Alliance in Boise for use in their day care.
More than 41 children attended all five nights and received a God's Big Backyard t-shirt and CD of the songs. The staff was dedicated and motivated to make this VBS special for each child who came. They received a wonderful blessing each evening knowing a seed could be planted in each of the precious children that could mean life in the Kingdom of Heaven.
