WOHLERS 50th

Bob and Earlene Wohlers celebrated their 50th wedding anniversity on Aug. 16, 2014, with a reception at the Chehalis (Wash.) Church.

Earlene R. Parmele was born in McMinnville, Ore., and later lived in Taft, Toledo, Hood River, and Pendleton, Ore. She attended Pacific Union College in Angwin, Calif., for one year then worked in Hollywood, Calif., before coming back to Walla Walla, Wash., where she met and married Bob. She attended Adventist schools all her life.

J. Robert "Bob" Wohlers was born in Benton Harbor, Mich., lived at Berrien Springs, Mich., and at Indiana Academy in Cicero Ind., while his father stationed in New Guinea while in the Army. Bob attended Adventist schools from first grade through dental school. His family moved all over the country, from California and Washington D.C., to Texas, Tennesse and College Place, Wash., where he met Earlene. 

They married Aug. 30, 1964. The couple lived in many locations, California, Hawaii, Japan and Washinton. 

Bob opened a dental practice in Mossyrock, Wash., on Nov. 14, 1974, and closed that office in 1989. Bob purchased another practice in Chehalis in 1985 and ran both offices for four years. He still runs his dental practice in Chehalis. While living in Mossyrock they were members of the Morton Church and helped build Morton Adventist School, where their children attended. 

The Wohlers family includes Wendy and Kurt Kleppe of Bothell, Wash.; Nicole and Doug Kiger of Lake Tapps, Wash.; Jeremy Wohlers and Hilary Huff of Yakima, Wash.; and 5 grandchildren.
