Decorated tables arranged in the shape of a cross set the scene for the women’s ministries agape supper at the Klamath Falls Church fellowship hall on Friday evening, March 30.
The event was the culmination of studying Forty Days, a book by Dennis Smith. Several ladies commented that they felt the Holy Spirit’s leading during their study, drawing them to a closer walk with the Lord.
After a delicious soup and salad supper, the ladies were led in a song service by Sara Withers, Valley View Church (Medford, Ore.) associate pastor.
Jolene Jepson, also from Medford, gave a moving testimony, sharing with the group the joys and challenges of raising Andrew, a special needs child. His dependence on her for such things as his basic personal needs, social situations and learning skills showed her how much Jesus wants us to depend on Him for every facet of our lives.
She stated that we all have handicaps of some form because of sin. God has given His Son to guide us through this life and ultimately to a better life in heaven. We can accept God’s help the way Andrew accepted his mother’s help, or we can try to do everything for ourselves. The choice is ours.
The evening concluded with a communion service during which the ladies recommitted their lives to Jesus.
