LCAS Builds for Eternity

Completing the new building for Lewis County Adventist School, the junior academy in Chehalis, Wash., was a major goal this year. There were also three spritual goals emphasized: a personal relationship with Jesus, sharing Him with others and developing fruits of the Spirit through service.

A spiritual leadership campout in August 2010 with area pastors, school staff and secondary students set the tone for developing student leaders to lead social occasions, community service and spiritual events.

Students led a Week of Prayer in March and IMPACT teams held church services for five area churches as part of the spiritual sharing emphasis.

In addition, students worked hard with community projects, including participating in a local "Extreme Build" project to construct a home; emptying a hoarder's house; preparing food boxes for the local food bank; distributing coats at Christmas with the police department to school-age children; delivering homemade cookies and bread to police and firefighters; and hosting a Valentine's Day luncheon for senior citizens complete with a musical performance.

Students and staff are excited to move into the new Lewis County Adventist School facility this fall, but even more, they're looking forward to nurturing the spiritual leadership and service talents of all students.
