Q. I am not married and I have had sex. Am I going to hell?
A. One of the greatest tools that the devil uses is guilt. When we sin by making poor choices or following our own desires instead of what God has designed for our lives, we often think that God cannot love and forgive us.
The Bible says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and WILL forgive us our sins and purify us from unrighteousness" (I John 1:9). Although we suffer the consequences of our bad choices, we don't have to face the burden of guilt and shame.
Jesus takes that from us when we turn to Him and want a new journey that includes His will for our lives. Psalm 103:12 says, "As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions (sins) from us."
Remember the woman accused of adultery that the Jewish leaders brought to Jesus? He didn't condemn her. He said, "Go now, and leave your life of sin." I believe that Jesus is saying the same to you.
