Make a Missionary Wheel

Being a missionary isn’t about going far away. It’s about listening to God and loving others wherever we are. This wheel will help you see all the ways you can be a missionary right now!

Things You’ll Need
  • Two sheets of construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Brass fastener (paper brad) or thumbtack
  • Ruler or other straight edge
  • Crayons or markers
  • One salad plate
  • One teacup saucer
  • Stickers (optional)
1. Create the Mission Base
  • On a sheet of paper, trace around a salad plate to create a large circle.
  • Center a teacup saucer inside the big circle and trace to create a smaller circle.
  • Divide the smaller circle into eight “pizza slices.”
  • In each slice, draw or write a missionary idea. Here are some examples:
    • Share a Bible story with a friend.
    • Pray for someone.
    • Help at home.
    • Invite a new kid to play.
    • Say something kind.
    • Share a snack or toy.
    • Tell someone about God’s love.
    • Sing or play a song about Jesus.
2. Make the Wheel
  • On a second sheet of paper, trace another salad plate circle and cut it out.
  • Center a saucer inside the big circle and trace again.
  • Divide the smaller circle into eight slices.
  • Draw a small circle in the middle.
  • Cut out one slice to make a window.
  • Decorate the wheel to look like a chariot wheel.
3. Put It Together
  • Stack the wheel on top of the base.
  • Poke a hole through the center and fasten with a brass fastener or thumbtack.
4. Spin and Share
  • Spin the chariot wheel to reveal an idea for showing God’s love.
  • Every turn gives you a new way to be a missionary right where you are!
