Eighth Grader Receives Awards Janelle Dunton, an eighth grader at Boise Valley Adventist School (BVAS), was honored with the Mayors’ Award to Youth on April 29. The award is a salute from the leaders of today to the leaders of tomorrow and is given to outstanding students in the junior high and high schools of Ada County, Idaho. Janelle was nominated for this award by the staff of BVAS. Dunton exemplifies the phrase “giving it your all.” She consistently performs at her best no matter the task. Her writing radiates with her own special vitality, and she knows how to express herself eloquently and with confidence. She is respectful and dedicated, but she is willing to admit when she needs help. Her activities include dance, horses, playing the piano, and taking voice and cello lessons. She provides an excellent example of genuine kindness and love while giving of herself with smiles and hugs.
