Lois Jo Cafferky

CAFFERKY — Lois Jo (Vickery) Hixon Wilcott, 97; born Feb. 12, 1921, Marshalltown, Iowa; died Feb. 7, 2019, Clarkston, Wash. Surviving: sons, Michael, Walla Walla, Wash.; Allan; daughter, Gail Medrano, Palm Desert, Calif.; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Lois married Allan B. Cafferky, M.D., in 1943. After a two-year term of self-supporting medical mission service in the Cayman Islands and Jamaica, the Cafferky family moved to Clarkston, Wash., in April 1949. There Dr. Cafferky practiced medicine until he passed away in 1953. During her career, Lois served as an X-ray technician and medical office assistant and then for many years as an executive secretary until her retirement.

Avocational interests included singing, drawing, writing poetry and Bible study. Lois was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church since 1937. She passed away in full assurance of the soon return of Jesus Christ.
