Melvin Santos has accepted the invitation of the Alaska Conference Executive Committee to become the conference vice president for administration. He is currently serving as senior pastor of the Nashville First Seventh-day Adventist Church in Nashville, Tenn.
With a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University, Santos is active in evangelism and discipleship. He is the discipleship trainer for the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference and has also served as the North American Division ministerial field liaison to provide training and resources for pastors in the area of discipleship.
In addition to his pastoral experience in churches, Santos has also served as chaplain for the U.S. Army and with the Army National Guard Reserves.
Santos and his wife, Juliet, a nurse practitioner with her own consulting firm, have provided training for pastors and church leaders around North America. Together they have three young adult children, Elizabeth, Lauren and Michael.
The Alaska Conference looks forward to welcoming Melvin Santos as he steps into his new role on May 1.
