Pastor Robin Song excels in integrating youth into small groups. Perhaps this stems from his experience as a teenager. His relationship with Jesus motivated him to behind his life of teenage delinquency, vandalism and theft and move into a life of purpose-driven ministry.
“Pastor Robin sees God’s children and brings children of all ethnic backgrounds together to get to know Jesus,” says Bill Roberts, Washington Conference ministerial director. “He is a shepherd who encourages young people to worship and learn about Jesus in an authentic and practical way.”
Teenagers and young adults who Song mentors attended his ordination or shared words of affirmation in a video tribute in late November 2014.
Song began his ministry in college as a youth leader at the Toronto Korean Adventist Church in Canada. As Song’s relationship with God grew, so did his passion for sharing God’s transforming love with others.
When Song graduated from college, he made a life-changing decision to leave behind his career path in computer engineering and dedicate his life to full-time ministry. He pursued further education at the Andrews University Seminary in Berrien Springs, Mich., where he obtained his Master of Divinity degree.
He has since served as a youth pastor in Chicago and New York. He currently pastors at Living Vine Fellowship in Auburn, Wash, in association with Seattle Central Korean Adventist Church. Song is joined in ministry by his wife, Lauren, and their three young children.
“Robin is listening to God who brought him into ministry,” says John Freedman, Washington Conference president. “We recognize, acknowledge and witness God’s call in Robin’s life to serve as an ordained minister.”
