Glacier View Children Contribute to the Community

Community service is a regular part of school life for Glacier View students in Ronan, Mont.

At Thanksgiving, they prepared and served nearly 100 church and community visitors a feast including vegetable roast, sweet potato casserole, and pumpkin and apple pies. After the meal, students delivered pies to the police station, hospital and nursing home.

At Christmas, the Glacier View children entertained residents at a local group home for disabled persons with singing and bells performance. Glacier View also cooperates with Coalition with Kids, a program supporting anti-drug and alcohol activities for children. On New Year's Eve, the school held a lock-in with worship and activities. More than 32 students participated, many from the community, ranging in ages 4 to 18 years-old.

Other activities include visiting nursing homes, praying and writing to pen pals at the church school in Fort Belknap. Every quarter, at the monthly birthday party for the school children at Glacier View, they prepare a special package for their sister school at Fort Belknap.

Glacier View hopes outreach to neighbors near and far brings encouragement to hearts in the community, as well as multiple blessings in hearts and lives, as they learn lessons of service.
