Montana Christian Women’s Retreat 2005 A Woman’s Walk with God "Do you ever feel like your life is short on miracles? Then ask God for a miracle!” Keynote speaker Ginger Church scanned the faces in the auditorium full of women who had gathered from all over Montana and the Northwest at the Red Lion Colonial Inn in Helena for the annual Montana Christian Women’s Retreat. Many of the faces were young, and some were older, but each reflected a desire for renewal and refreshment during this October retreat. Some of the women had come for fellowship with friends, some with specific interests in the outstanding speakers and workshops provided, and many for a quiet respite from the usual responsibilities of life. But now, each woman eagerly listened as Ginger Church continued speaking. “God is a God of every little detail of our lives, and He uses every one of us in ordinary ways to do the most extraordinary things.” Church’s smile and infectious enthusiasm was captivating as she continued to share during the weekend God’s desire for friendship with us, His plan for our friendship with others, His need to have us use our talents in simple ways to bless others, and His hope for us to trust Him every single moment—whether it is good or bad. Workshops featured Becky Curtis who shared the fulfillment of “Becoming an Ambassador for Christ;” Judy Fowler, who spoke on “Running on Fumes—A Deeper Relationship with the Lord;” and Karen Finch, who presented very personal and practical “Insights into Depression.” This retreat drew more first-time attendees along with a greater ratio of non-Adventists than in the past. The annual Montana Women’s Retreat has been held at a variety of camps or hotels in Montana to accommodate the ladies throughout the state. Many appreciated the central location in Helena and the very comfortable hotel accommodations. The retreat this year included a tour of the Governor’s Mansion in Helena, a hike, time in the hot tub and swimming pool, good food and great fellowship! What a rich and refreshing weekend!
