The Port Angeles Church family held a special service designed to remember past good times and celebrate Christ's constant comfort and presence on Sabbath evening, Dec. 6, 2008. Besides the death of four members this year, some experienced other losses such as distance from family, health issues and just the sheer exhaustion of energies from life's responsibilities.
Sweet carols led by Dallas Campbell with his guitar and a candlelight meal provided a relaxed, poignant setting. With encouragement from guest Rose Crumb, Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County director, members shared memories and strategies for coping. People shared feelings of support and intimacy, making new friends in the process. Christ was honored as the hope and healer of all.
