Question: Why is the Bible important for me today?
Answer: I am amazed how convenient it has become to stay connected with each other. We have e-mail, instant messaging, webcam, and cellular phones so we can go anywhere and still stay connected.
God also wants to stay in contact with His children. The Bible is God's way of staying connected with us. It is His communication of daily letters or e-mails to us. The Bible provides instant messages in times of personal need and support for our daily lives.
What I like about the Bible is that it gives me reminders of Jesus' promises for my future. John 14:1–3 tells me that Jesus has gone to prepare my room, and He has promised to come back and take me to live in it. The Bible lets me know how constant Jesus is. In our world of change, the Bible says that He is "the same yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).
Open up the e-mail that Jesus has sent you and find an instant message from Him for your life today.
