Students from across Idaho Conference gathered at Gem State Adventist Academy for track and field day on May 5, 2026, enjoying a full day of friendly competition, teamwork and fellowship.
Hosted annually by Idaho Conference education department each May, the event brings together students in fifth through eighth grade from schools across the region. This year, 76 students representing five schools participated in a variety of running and field events.
The day began with a time of worship led by Sierra Haagenson, GSAA junior, setting a positive and uplifting tone for the activities ahead. Immediately following worship, students took to the track for the first event — the mile run — where boys and girls competed in separate divisions.
Field events followed, including shot put, softball throw, discus and standing long jump, giving students the opportunity to showcase their strength and skill. The day concluded with the fast-paced 50- and 100-meter dash races, drawing cheers and excitement from participants and spectators alike.
Medals were awarded for first, second and third place in each event during a closing ceremony that celebrated the students’ hard work and achievements.
More than just a day of competition, track and field day was a meaningful time for middle school students, teachers, volunteer parents, pastors and GSAA staff to come together, build connections and create lasting memories.
