Help Welcome Ukrainian Refugee Students

By Kellie Nunley, October 06, 2022

You need to meet Illia, Davyd, Daniel, Violetta, Vlad, Oleksii and Vlad. These young people have been forced by war to leave their homes in Ukraine and all they know to come to a new country and attend a new school at Auburn Adventist Academy. They’ve formed a new community of friends with three mentoring students who are helping them figure out life in the U.S.

AAA is committed to helping these Adventist young people stay in Adventist education and secured a $25,000 matching grant to help with education expenses. The grant has a giving deadline of Nov. 12, 2022.

Watch their story and help us welcome Ukrainian refugee students with a gift toward their education expenses.

The Gleaner is a gathering place with news and inspiration for Seventh-day Adventist members and friends throughout the northwestern United States. It is an important communication channel for the North Pacific Union Conference — the regional church support headquarters for Adventist ministry throughout Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. The original printed Gleaner was first published in 1906, and has since expanded to a full magazine with a monthly circulation of more than 40,000. Through its extended online and social media presence, the Gleaner also provides valuable content and connections for interested individuals around the world.
