Engineering Student Recognized for Service

By Kelsi Dos Santos, July 08, 2022

In recognition of his commitment to service, Darius Felder, senior electrical engineering major, was awarded both the President’s Student Civic Leadership Award and the Governor’s Student Civic Leadership Award through Campus Compact.

Students from 43 colleges and universities across Washington were nominated for the governor’s award. Felder was one of only three award winners — chosen by Governor Jay Inslee’s office — which came with a financial award conferred on April 15, 2022, at a ceremony in Seattle, Washington.

Read more about Felder’s path to Walla Walla University and the important role service has played in his life here.

The Gleaner is a gathering place with news and inspiration for Seventh-day Adventist members and friends throughout the northwestern United States. It is an important communication channel for the North Pacific Union Conference — the regional church support headquarters for Adventist ministry throughout Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. The original printed Gleaner was first published in 1906, and has since expanded to a full magazine with a monthly circulation of more than 40,000. Through its extended online and social media presence, the Gleaner also provides valuable content and connections for interested individuals around the world.
