Anchorage Community Church Youth on Fire!

Pathfinders from Anchorage Community Church are going on God’s errand.

The church held a youth day on March 5, 2022, led by Bernard Sarkodie, youth leader, and with help and support from Novena Olibrice, Marie McClellan, Vincia Bruno and Laura Jean-Francois. The youth accepted, and reminded themselves of their Pathfinder club's Aim, Motto, Pledge and Law. They are holding up the mantle and their torches are burning bright with the quest to spread the Advent message. The pathfinders are empowered by the 2021 Camporee theme “I Will Go,” and are already embracing the 2022 theme, “Courage To Stand.”

The Anchorage Community Church is committed to incorporating young people and training its youth for leadership and service to humanity. The Pathfinder Club is a church-centered, spiritual-recreational activity program designed for young people to grow their love for God, obtain discipline and temperance. They're also paying attention to health laws, as defined in the Weimar NEWSTART lifestyle program, and influencing others to enjoy a better way living.

The church believes, as shared in the 2022 General Conference statement, that "Covid mitigation plans have, and still continues to have an impact on our activities and have us doing things differently, but that it does not hold us back from our usual action, adventure, challenge, group activities and providing opportunities for us to develop new attitudes and skills that produce personal growth, team building or community spirit and a sense of loyalty and respect for God, His Creation and His church.”

As Anchorage Community Church members look forward to the blessed hope and soon coming of the King, they know it's imperative they each make every day count by doing their best to reach others with the Gospel. Through daily routines, interactions and deliberately “seeking the lost” in the community, the desire to spread the Word knows no bounds. This year’s Sabbath walks, hikes, potlucks and game nights will continue to be packed with spirit-filled themes while they look forward to a mega-celebration — World Pathfinder Day, on Sept. 17, 2022.
