La Pine Members Find Ministry in Wood Cutting

By Don Surrett, December 22, 2021

Several members of the La Pine Church have found a creative way to give to those in need in their community. They've started a "wood ministry." The project, launched by Ty Kobza, former head deacon, turns fallen trees from all over the area into firewood. Many community members have donated their trees to help those in need of firewood for the winter months.

In coming months, inmates from the Deschutes County Jail will be working with the wood cutting team as part of their community work requirement.
