On a warm sunny Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, 50 excited women headed to the Montana Christian Women’s Retreat at the Quality Inn in Butte, Mont. Speaker Wilma Bing, from Auburn Adventist Academy Church in the Washington Conference, brought the theme “Unshakeable” to life for each of the women through personal and relatable stories. Friday evening the attendees got to know each other and make new friendships during a mixer game.
Saturday, four other women joined our group for the day. Sabbath School was skits or presentations about different women in the Bible. Topics presented by Wilma included "Stand Tall," "Stand Still," "Stand Firm" and "Stand Strong." Music was a big part of the services. We were honored by several special music pieces. In the afternoon, people could choose to visit the Mineral Museum, pack toiletry items to give to battered women’s shelters, put puzzles together, visit with others and caught up on rest. After the evening service, almost all the women stayed by to play the game “Two Lies and a Truth.” There was a lot of laughing.
Bing presented her final topic on before everyone left for home. The weekend was a wonderful spiritual blessing filled with new and renewed friendships.
Please mark Sept. 11–13, 2020, and plan to join us.
