This story begins with the voice of a young boy saying, “Mom, I want to be baptized.” This simple request prompted his grandmother, Joanne Martin, to learn more about Jesus. She began to study along with Billy by reading his junior baptismal booklet and attending a study group at the Bridger (Mont.) Church each Sabbath. She fell in love with Jesus and wanted to make the day special by joining her grandson in baptism.
The four Cumin children had been attending the Bridger Church. When they heard that a baptism was being planned, they decided to prepare for baptism too.
It was a high Sabbath on May 13 when two families came together to be joined to the family of God.
