Jerry Harris of Joseph, Ore., was baptized by Steve Gilmore, Enterprise Church pastor, in a beautiful pond at the home of Gary and Glenda Underhill on Sabbath, Oct. 9. The morning began with Underhill calling Gilmore about the cold, heavy rainstorm that Enterprise was having. There was prayer and a decision to continue on schedule with the baptism taking place at 2 p.m. As the day progressed the sun came out and warmed everything. Many church members came and witnessed the event.
Harris has lived in Joseph for several years and is a real estate broker. He studied and witnessed the love of Jesus through several of his Adventist acquaintances. He decided that Jesus was the answer to his questions and gave his life to Him. He wanted to be baptized outdoors and the Underhills graciously offered their lovely home and pond. The sun beamed down on the pond as Gilmore and Harris entered the water, a lovely setting for welcoming Harris into his new church family.
