As the strains of the class song, "Don't Worry, Be Happy" blasted out from the public-address system, 28 seniors whooped and hollered down the center aisle of the Puget Sound Adventist Academy (PSAA) gymnasium on May 30, 2004. This is the second-largest class to graduate from PSAA since it became a senior academy in 1998.
This outstanding class has many things to be proud of: 50 percent graduated with academic honors, 68 percent attended PSAA all four years of academy; and three graduates, Melissa Clay, Joel Wade and Erica Westman, received the 2003–04 Washington State Honors Award based on their grade point average and ACT or SAT scores.
Bryan Clay, an active PSAA supporter and father of graduate Melissa Clay, gave the commencement address, "Ride." Clay, who taught many of the seniors how to snowboard, aptly compared snowboarding to the ride of life. "Just like gravity is in control when you snowboard and you have to work with it, God is in control of our lives and we need to work with Him," Clay said.
Other highlights of graduation included Gilbert Dizon singing the dedication song, Jason Hooker giving the class president's address, Jason's older sister, Jennifer MacKenzie, presenting the Walla Walla College awards, and Julie Pandjaitain receiving the Caring Heart Award.
PSAA graduated its second-largest class since it became a senior academy.
