Kalispell Church members recently celebrated 75 years of education, at a reunion and re-dedication service.
One hundred fifty persons came from as far away as Washington, D.C., and Washington State, with representation from Oregon, Idaho, Nebraska, California, and several areas of Montana.
Former teachers present included Anita Kaylor Roberts, Archie Harris, Autumn Evans Paskell, and Donna Lee Seright Gilder, as well as present teachers Jodie Watson and Marty Knapp.
What is now known as the Valley Adventist Christian School began in a one-room building with no electricity or running water and is now a modern facility, situated on 20 acres of rural property and offering K-9 educational opportunities.
Speakers included Pastor Tom Glatts and his wife; former pastor, Gerald Schulze; historian, Fred Beavon; and Mark Harding, school board chairman.
Other highlights included a special student choir presentation by the Valley Angels Come Singing and sharing of memories.
The celebration concluded with a computerized presentation of activities, by head teacher/special weekend organizer, Jodie Watson. •
