EDWARDS — Cora Marjorie (Kaemmle) Cowles, 89; born Aug. 18, 1931, Forks, Washington; died Jan. 20, 2021, Warrenton, Oregon. Surviving: sons and daughters-in-law, Ivan and Diane (Martin) Cowles, Forks; David and Linda (Kreye) Cowles, College Place, Washington; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan (Cowles) and Marland Armstrong, Warrenton; Joan (Cowles) and Raymond Perkon, Forks; Jessica (Cowles) and Guillermo Gow-Lee, Battle Ground, Washington; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cora Kaemmle was born in Forks, Washington, on Aug. 17, 1928 to Carl and Magda Kaemmle. She graduated from Forks High School in 1946 and married Lyle Cowles, a soldier recently returned from the war.

Lyle and Cora lived in Shuwah between Forks and Beaver and raised five children while Lyle worked falling trees or building trails in Olympic National Park. After Lyle’s untimely death in 1976, Cora moved to Yakima, then to Crescent Bar near Wenatchee after she was married to Wendell Edwards in 1997. She went quietly to rest on Jan. 20, 2021, in the home of her daughter, Susan, in Warrenton, Oregon, near Astoria.
