Case, Indianapolis, Indiana; 5 great-granddaughters, Stephanie Case, Anne Case and Victoria Case, all of Olympia; Jessica Case and Hailey Case, both of Indianapolis; a great-grandson, Joshua Case, Indianapolis; foster daughters, Sonia Schoepflin, Puyallup, Washington; Heidi Syck, Smith Station, Alabama; Emily Owens, Shelton, Washington; 8 foster-grandchildren and 2 foster-great-grandchildren.

Ella Mae Wyatt Case

Ella Mae (Wyatt) Case, 96, of Olympia, Washington, passed away July 27, 2019, at the Santo Nino Adult Family Home in Olympia. She was born April 15, 1923, at the Johnny D'Or Prairie near Fort Vermilion, Northern Alberta, Canada, to Anna Campbell Wyatt and Harry Wyatt. She was married June 5, 1942, in Seattle, Washington, to Warren Lewis Case (1921–2005). She was the only member of her family who had dual citizenship in both Canada and in the United States. Ella Mae was a graduate of Auburn Academy, in Auburn, Washington, where she graduated in 1941. She worked at Totem Plywood in Tacoma, at Tacoma Tent and Awning, at White Stag in Portland, Oregon, at Harris Pine Mills in Pendleton, Oregon, and doing the cooking and cleaning for wealthy households in Tacoma before her marriage. Ella Mae and Warren, while he was working for Dupont Pharmaceuticals, also raised chickens in a huge barn in Spanaway, Washington. For many years she was a member of the Tacoma Central Seventh-day Adventist Church, where Warren was the head elder for 17 years. In Tacoma she was active as a Sabbath School superintendent, a greeter, a vegetarian cooking school leader, a school board member, and as a member of the Washington Conference Executive Committee for several years. Ella Mae also gave Bible studies. After she and Warren moved to Olympia to be near their son, Ron, she became a member of the Lacey Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Ella Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Warren Lewis Case. Warren passed away on March 20, 2005. Also predeceased by her siblings, Charlotte (Wyatt) Ferchland, who passed away at the age of 94 in Milwaukie, Oregon; Charles Wyatt, who passed away in Portland, at the age of 61; and Harriet (Wyatt) Case, who passed away in Portland, at the age of 59.

Ella Mae is survived by her son, Ronald L. Case, M.D. and his wife Joan Case, of Lacey; by two grandsons, Edward P. Case, M.D. and his wife Jennifer, of Olympia; Brian W. Case, M.D. of Indianapolis; 5 great-granddaughters, Stephanie, Anne and Victoria Case, all of Olympia, Washington; twins Jessica and Hailey Case of Indianapolis; a great-grandson, Joshua Case, of Indianapolis; and many relatives and friends. She is also survived by three foster daughters, Sonia Schoepflin of Puyallup, Washington; Heidi Syck of Smith Station, Alabama; Emily Owens of Shelton, Washington; and by 8 foster-grandchildren and 2 foster-great-grandchildren.

Ella Mae will always be remembered for her Seventh-day Adventist Christian commitment, her love of her family, her love of Auburn Adventist Academy, her love of poodles, her ability to cook great meals, her sewing, her flower gardens, her friendly greetings to all who came to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Tacoma, Washington, her love of singing, her hard-work ethic, and for being a nurturing and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
