BOYES — Helen Arlene (Madson), 100; born May 1, 1916, Harrison, Idaho; died Oct. 4, 2016, Hayden, Idaho. Surviving: daughter and son-in-law, Allis and Rex Rickey, Spokane, Wash.; brother, Dick Madson, College Place, Wash.; 10 nieces and nephews; 2 granddaughters, Angela and Tessa; 2 grandsons, Arlen and Trevor; 7 great-grandchildren. 

Helen was born on May 1, 1916 in Harrison, Idaho to James and Alice (Wygent) Madson. When Helen was 8 years old, the family moved down the river by steamboat to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where she lived most of her life. She met her future husband, Bill, while working there and they married in 1936. They had 70 years of marriage before Bill passed away in 2006. Helen and Bill had two children: A daughter, Allis and a son, Jim.

They were faculty at Upper Columbia Academy in Spangle, Wash. Helen taught piano lessons. Helen and Bill were caretakers at Camp MiVoden on Hayden Lake for many years. Helen was also a cook's helper at Walla Walla General Hospital before they traveled around the conference repairing parsonages. On their vacations, they helped build churches for the Adventist church around the United States.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Bill and her son, Jim.
