TURPEL — William Paul, 80; born March 29, 1934, Boston, Mass.; died Jan. 15, 2015, Moses Lake, Wash. Surviving: wife, Lois Ann (Lampson); daughter and son-in-law, Lori Ann and Douglas Diaz, Moses Lake; brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Dixie Turpel, Dewey, Ariz.; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Ronald Sutter, Flagstaff, Ariz.; and 2 grandchildren, Tyler Diaz, Spokane, Wash.; Danielle Korcek, Loma Linda, Calif.; and a great-grandchild, Rowan Everett Diaz.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Leona Turpel, and his son, Thomas Alan Turpel, who passed away in July 2011.

William Paul Turpel of Moses Lake, Wash., died at home surrounded by his loving family.

Paul graduated from Greater Boston Academy and received a B.A. in Business from Walla Walla University. He was married to Lois Ann Lampson on Dec. 28, 1952, in Stoneham, Mass. Together they raised two children, Thomas Alan Turpel (deceased) and Lori Ann Diaz, Moses Lake, Wash., grandchildren, Tyler Diaz and Danielle Diaz-Korcek, and great-grandchild, Rowan Everett Diaz.

For 27 years Paul was employed by Pacific Press Publishing Association, a Seventh-day Adventist organization. His last position was manager of the book and chapel record department. The following nine years until his retirement in 1991 he was the alumni director followed by vice president of college advancement at his alma mater, Walla Walla University.

Paul enjoyed business, music, travel and trains.
