UCC Hispanic Churches Unite With One Voice

By Hispanic Pastors, October 09, 2026

The vision for an evangelistic caravan began with a clear sense that God was ushering in a new season and that it was time to take another step of faith. The last Hispanic caravan in Upper Columbia Conference occurred in 2015, when Ramón Canals served as North Pacific Union vice president for Hispanic ministries. After several years without such a significant event, a conviction grew among pastors and church leaders that the time had come to reignite that evangelistic momentum.

This effort was not about repeating the past but responding to what God was doing in the present. With the leadership of Peter Simpson, NPUC vice president for Hispanic ministries, a renewed sense of support for evangelism emerged, along with a desire to launch a season of impactful Hispanic ministry across the region. The idea of a caravan culminating in a grand finale began to take shape.

An evangelistic caravan is a mobile outreach movement — a team of pastors, evangelists, musicians and volunteers traveling from city to city to hold meetings at each location. Instead of inviting people to a central event, the caravan brings the event directly to the people. As it moves through each locality, nearby churches prepare in advance through Bible studies, invitations and prayer, creating a continuous wave of evangelism.

This effort extended beyond UCC; a parallel movement occurred in Idaho Conference and Washington Conference. These were not separate events but a synchronized wave of evangelism across the Northwest.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the faithful work of lay members. Everyone played a role, including prayer teams, Bible workers, hospitality, logistics, music and follow-up. In the end, 240 new souls surrendered their lives to Christ.

The event on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Pasco High School was not merely a conclusion but a moment when God’s work became visible, allowing us to worship Him in the power of His glorious acts.

This evangelistic caravan was not the finish line but the beginning of a journey. We now walk faithfully with each soul, trusting that what God has initiated will continue to grow.
