Have you ever wished you could talk to someone about Jesus but didn’t know how to get started? Perhaps the simplest way is to become a GLOW missionary.
GLOW stands for Giving Light to Our World. GLOW tracts are small, pocket-sized, colorful tracts with simple messages about Jesus and Bible truth. They can be ordered online at glowonline.org. Many churches supply members with packets of 100 so they can hand them out and start spiritual conversations.
A GLOW missionary asks Jesus for divine appointments, smiles, and says, “Hi, here’s something to brighten your day” as they hand someone a GLOW tract.
In fall 2025, I handed GLOW tracts to a young man in a park named Rick. I had no idea what he was going through, but God did.
He had been through a very tough year, losing a close friend, a truck, a girlfriend, his freedom and almost his life. One day, working in an over-packed freezer in Target, he got down on his knees and asked God to show him a better way and to help him find a better job.
The next day, he was walking through a park when I handed him a couple of GLOW tracts, and the conversation led to an invitation to Friday family worship.
Five minutes after I met Rick in the park, a man walking by said, “Don’t you work at Target? I saw you there. Are you interested in a great-paying job in construction where you could have weekends free?”
Rick met us for family worship that Friday evening, along with Francisco and Nez Pollock and their daughters. That led to more connections to Godly people, weekly Bible studies at the Pollock family's home, friendships and disciple-making. Francisco and Nez served as Rick’s baptism coaches and prepared him for baptism. He was baptized March 14, 2026.
Rick’s life is a testimony of what God can do to turn around a depressed young adult and give him hope through Jesus, His word and His people. As a GLOW missionary, you have the privilege of cooperating with God in seeing souls saved for His kingdom.
