Post Falls Shares Quilted Prayers

Members from Post Falls Adventist Church found a tangible way to bless veterans through handmade quilts.

Most recently, the congregation in Post Falls, Idaho, presented five quilts to new members by quilt ministry leader BethAnne Moseanko.

The Post Falls quilt ministry has blessed many veterans with handmade quilts in the last six years.

The quilts are part of the 350,000 quilts given by Quilts of Valor Organization, who keep a record nationwide of the recipient, their duty years and branch of service.  Their mission is to cover service members and veterans whose lives have been touched by war, with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.

The five newest quilt recipients are: Gary L. Alvarado, U.S. Air Force, 1981–1991; Karl E. Llewellyn, U.S. Army, 2004–2007; Lawrence L. Johnson, U.S. Navy, 1960–1962; James L. Rathbun, U.S. Air Force, 1974–1978; and Gerald A. Jones, U.S. Army 1965–1967.

During a quilt presentation ceremony, Moseanko read these words of blessing: “Our prayer is that you find comfort in it ... that each time you wrap yourself within these fibers you will feel the love we have for you in every stitch, the perfect and the imperfect.  We love you all and want to thank you for your service.”
