Brewster Students Enjoy Tea With Grandma

March 01, 2016

Brewster Adventist Christian School is a small, kindergarten-to-eighth-grade school in central Washington north of Wenatchee, Wash., with a family-like atmosphere. The school has recently been blessed by the volunteer time of four amazing grandmas from the local church. Each day of the week, Monday through Thursday, one of the grandmas comes in for an hour and a half to two hours to volunteer her time listening to children read in a reading group and individually.

This is especially helpful in the multigrade classrooms, with varying reading abilities. Here, the Brewster students celebrate a cup of tea with Grandma Linda Deleon as a culmination of a reading book.
