Grants Pass Holds 'Awesome Card-making Party'

The Grants Pass (Ore.) Church enjoyed a special Sabbath on May 5 as six baptisms were celebrated on Pathfinder Sabbath. Later that afternoon several Earliteens and youth, led by their pastor, Christian Martin, gathered for the Awesome Card-making Party.

More than a dozen young people assembled in the youth room with parents and other interested adults. Everyone was encouraged to make "Thinking of You" cards, with the hope of sending them to people who need uplifting in these difficult times. Some also made cards for specific people: friends, moms, dads and so on. Materials were donated by one of the participants, and card-crafters had their choice of stamps, stickers, pens and colored paper. In the end, Martin held up an impressive stack of handmade cards and explained what an impact these cards would make on their recipients.

Martin then led the group in prayer, asking for a blessing upon the cards as they are delivered. Everyone then dressed for a hike in Cathedral Hills, on the other side of Grants Pass. The nice weather ensured the Lord's blessing was felt upon the group.
