Eugene Sacred Choir Performs

The Greater Eugene Sacred Choir performed Saturday night, Dec. 6, 2008, at the Veneta Church. The audience was treated to a beautiful mix of familiar and new Christmas music. Accompanying the arrangements were a piano, flutes and an assortment of percussion instruments.

The Greater Eugene Sacred Choir is a nonprofit, interdenominational choir funded solely by goodwill offerings. Don Corcoran, director and Santa Clara Church elder, founded the choir in 2004 as a way to encourage a deeper commitment to Christ on the part of all its members and audiences by learning and performing sacred music. Corcoran says he has seen God's blessings on this ministry as it has been steadily growing and has been greatly appreciated.

The Greater Eugene Sacred Choir has two performing seasons each year: Christmas and in the spring. Plans for the spring include adding a small brass section.
