The Riverside Church in Washougal (Wash.) has been trying something a little different on Sabbath mornings. From October 2007 to April 2008 the Riverside Church family participated in monthly lessons on Responding to Conflict Biblically. The series was developed by Peacemaker Ministries and adapted by Charles Brown of Adventist Reconciliation Services. It featured a study guide and video segments, including scripture and Ellen G. White's writings that illustrate ways to deal with conflict.
Each month a member presented a key concept as part of the regular church service. Topics included different responses to conflict, how to deal with anger and the underlying principle that "conflict provides opportunities to glorify God."
