The Brookings (Ore.) Church formed an outreach committee after Charles Schulz, pastor, and local church leaders attended a leadership conference in Grants Pass last spring. The newly formed committee decided as one of its activities to staff a booth at the Curry County Fair held July 22–25. The Gold Beach (Ore.) Church also participated, making it a joint effort.
More than 1,000 free copies of The Passion of His Love by Ellen G. White and bottles of water were given to Curry County fairgoers. Story booklets, erasers and stickers were available for children.
People of all ages readily accepted the books as the movie "The Passion of the Christ” was still fresh in their minds.
