STANLEY — Kathryn Monell (Fisher) Bissember, 78; born Nov. 12, 1937, Artesia, Calif.; died Jan. 10, 2016, Eugene, Ore. Surviving: son, Roy Harold Bissember, Santa Monica, Calif.; brothers and sisters-in-law, William G.E. and Darlene Fisher Sr., Salem, Ore.; David and Sharron Fisher, Washtucna, Wash.; Thomas and Valerie Fisher, Connell, Wash.; sister, Julianne Fisher, Salem, Ore.; sister and brother-in-law, Claire (Fisher) and Merlin Hart, Eugene, Ore.; and 5 grandchildren.

Kathy taught for 32 years in the elementary grades, starting in Brewster, Wash., when she was 19 years old. She also taught in other denominational Washington, Arizona and California grade schools. She was a principle and the Southeastern California Conference Elementary Supervisor for several years.

She earned her Bachelor's degree from Walla Walla College and a Master's degree from Loma Linda University in elementary education.

Kathy loved teaching and inspiring young people to learn the basics for being successful in their lives. She always was ready to have fun, and she is missed by her family, friends and many students. She looked forward to seeing everyone in heaven.
