Surviving: wife, Alice (Goerlitz); sons and daughters-in-law, David and Ginger Werner, Loma Linda, Calif.; Randy and Zenith Werner, Orange City, Fla.; Barry Werner, Boise, Idaho; Durwood and Carissa Werner, Portland; and 8 grandchildren.

He worked as a medical technologist in Glendale, Calif., and Portland, Ore., then spent 37 years as a chef at Portland Adventist Medical Center.
