The Washington Conference Executive Committee has elected Doug Bing vice president for administration, a position vacated when John Freedman was elected president.
Bing is a 1986 graduate of Union College, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in theology and a bachelor of science degree in business. He received a master of divinity degree from Andrews University in 1988.
After interning for a year in Omaha, Neb., Bing became campus chaplain and pastor at Enterprise Academy in Kansas, his high school alma mater, where he served for nearly six years. In 1995, Bing began serving as pastor of the Wichita South Adventist Church. While there, he became a certified church planter and participated in a major planting project in the city.
In August 2001, Bing became ministerial director of the Washington Conference, a position he held until his recent appointment as vice president. Bing and his wife, Wilma, have three children, Eric, 11, Kaleigh, 7, and Ryan, 4, and make their home in Auburn, Wash.
