A fire broke out the morning of Sept. 10, 2021 at Three Sisters Adventist Christian School, just outside of Bend, Oregon. No staff and students were harmed. However, the school's shop was destroyed and the attached bus barn was damaged.
The fire was first reported around 9:00 a.m. as a barn fire, but it was soon discovered that it was actually the workshop, maintenance storage building for the school’s tools and maintanance, attached to the larger bus barn, that was burning.
Typically the school’s Sprinter van is parked in the building, but the school is praising the Lord that they had it out on a field trip that day, saving it from damage.
Thankfully, fire crews from nearby cities, Bend, Cloverdale and Sisters, were able to get quick contain of the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings or land.
While the shop was largely destroyed, the bus barn was mostly intact when EMS crews finished their work.
While the cause of the fire is being investigated, the school community is praising the Lord for the quick EMS response and the safety of their students and staff.
