More than 80 people filled the Moses Lake Church multipurpose room for a special lunch at Crestview Christian School’s (CCS) home and school association hosted a lunch for students in kindergarten through ninth grade and their families. “We have many non-Adventist students attending our school, and we are always looking for ways to sponsor activities that will promote fellowship and interaction with parents and families. This was a wonderful way to share God’s loving care for us,” said Melissia Wallen, CCS principal.
Under the direction of Azure Goltz, home and school director, a team of volunteers served a meal of mashed potatoes and gravy, candied yams, vegetarian turkey and stuffing, salad, and pie. The tables were decorated with "thankfulness sheets" made by the students. Colored leaves and potato turkeys displayed things for which the children were grateful. Lists ranged from expected things like family, friends and pets to the somewhat unexpected, like peanut butter and the principal.
"It was CCS home and school’s privilege to share a dinner with our students and families in honor of giving thanks to God who blesses us so abundantly,” says Goltz.
