The Hood River Church in Oregon and the White Salmon Church in Washington with co-leaders Jessica Bailey and Marketa Hart hosted a Vacation Bible School in June with less than two weeks' notice.
The VBS, themed "Wild Stamped Through the Bible," was held in the Mid-Columbia Adventist Christian School gym in Hood River. Church members responded quickly to create a first-class VBS on short notice. Stacy Duffield, first- through fourth-grade teacher, led opening songs during the program. Ron Hart, Hood River Church pastor, set up a model barn in the corner of the gym where he told Bible stories from Genesis through Revelation.
Children grouped by ages rotated between activities, including art, games and snacks. The children participated with great enthusiasm, and, yes, some parents enjoyed watching all the fun as well.
