BEVINS 50th
Bob and Doris Babcock Bevins celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Clarkston Church fellowship hall in eastern Washington on April 2. Their children — Ken, Karen and Kathy — hosted dinner for 100 friends and family. The couple’s wedding songs were performed, and the event included a slideshow and tributes.
Bob and Doris were married April 3, 1966, in Riverside, Calif. Bob finished his degrees in business administration and physical therapy, and Doris also finished her physical therapy degree at Loma Linda University.
Next they moved to Ann Arbor, Mich., where Bob finished his master’s degree in public health in 1967. They started their family there, but welcomed a job in Santa Cruz, Calif., in 1969, where two daughters joined the family.
A final move to Clarkston seemed a good fit. Both Bob and Doris worked there in physical therapy until retirement. Doris still helps out occasionally with lymphedema patients because she is internationally certified in lymphedema management.
They are very active and enjoy walking, gardening and even water skiing still at Camp MiVoden in Hayden, Idaho, with all their children and grandchildren each summer during Family Camp. Doris is a musician and enjoys playing the piano and organ and planning musical programs. Bob volunteers at Positive Lifestyle Network, helping keep four TV channels and one radio station up and running. They have traveled with mission trips and vacation trips extensively.
The Bevins family includes Kenneth and Cherie Bevins of Boise, Idaho; Karen Lynn Miles of Yakima, Wash.; Kathy and Loren Bordeaux of Battle Ground, Wash.; and 7 grandchildren.
