Surviving: wife, Joyce (Bentz) Merry, Nordland, Wash.; daughter, Connie Raley, Enumclaw, Wash.; stepson, Kevin Merry, Honolulu, Hawaii; stepdaughter, Karla (Merry) Lonnstrom, Kaneohe, Hawaii; 4 grandchildren, a step-grandchild and 4 great-grandchildren.

Elway was preceded in death by his son, Roy.
