On the evening of December 3, 2021, members of the Moscow Church spent an hour Christmas caroling in the neighborhood next to their church. The group of a dozen participants, made up of mostly young adults and college students, went door to door singing carols and delivering candy canes and invitations to attend upcoming church services. The carolers had the most fun at many homes with wide-eyed children or folks who came out on their porches to sing along or request their favorites.
The following week, 15 church members and community members accompanied the Moscow Church’s Nativity float in the City of Moscow’s annual Christmas parade. In costume as Mary and Joseph, shepherds and three wise men church members rode on the float and waved to the crowd. Children dressed as angels walked alongside the float with adults, and they handed out candy canes with a message about Jesus, the true reason for the season.
After finishing the parade route, the float detoured to Gritman Medical Center and parked outside the ground-floor window of pastors Marshall and Natashia McVay. Two days earlier, the McVay's had welcomed their firstborn son, Lachlan Lee McVay. Catching a glimpse of this long-awaited little one and sharing the great joy of his arrival reminded the participants of God’s unfathomable gift of sending His own Son to this planet as a tiny baby.
Church members dressed as Mary and Joseph, angels, shepherds and wise men gathered round to greet baby Lachlan and congratulate his parents.
