Young to Direct Montana Education and Youth Ministry

Abril 12, 2018

Renae Young has accepted the invitation of the Montana Conference to become superintendent of education and youth ministries director. Young will transition from the Upper Columbia Conference in July once she finishes the current school year as principal of Yakima Adventist Christian School in Yakima, Wash.

With more than 25 years in the Adventist school system, and 13 years of experience in school administration, Young is eager to tackle her new assignment in Montana. "I'm looking forward to seeing what God has planned for our schools in Montana and doing my best to follow His leading," she says.

Young has bachelor's degrees from Walla Walla University in education and Spanish, and a master's degree in education from Washington State University. She has served as both teacher and principal in College Place and Dayton, Wash. Before beginning her Yakima role in 2012, Young spent four years as principal/teacher at Alpine Christian School in Rockford, Ill. She has also actively participated in Adventist elementary school curriculum projects as part of the North American Division summer committee.

"We praise God that He has brought to us a committed Christian who loves Jesus and is passionate about Adventist education and youth ministries" says Elden Ramirez, Montana Conference president. "Renae's love for the great outdoors and experience in summer camp ministry makes her a valuable team member," adds Matthew Kirk, vice president for finance and administration.

Renae and Joe Young have three children, son Nathan,19, daughter Sydnee,17, and son Josiah, 14. Josiah will be attending Mount Ellis Academy this coming school year. The Youngs enjoy time in the mountains, camping, and traveling. There is no doubt they will feel right at home in Montana once they arrive in July 2018. Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare for this important transition.
