Weekdays are proving to be just as busy as Sabbath mornings for Maranatha Adventist Church in Seattle — and that’s just the way the service-minded congregation likes it!
“We have a rich legacy of community service in our church,” says Derek Lane, Maranatha Church pastor. “Service seems to be our strength.”
During the recent North American Division Year-End Meeting, the work of the Northwest Native Ministries was prominently highlighted. Shared were the stories of Radio Ryan, a pilot and the general manager of the Alaska Adventist Radio Network, and the work being done on the video series Native New Life, a continuation to the Native New Day series.

With no funding, Humans of Adventism started in 2017 to explore and showcase the variety of people sharing the Adventist faith through photo-stories shared on social media. They will soon launch a 10-episode docuseries exploring the diversity and experiences of Seventh-day Adventists in the United States. From grandmothers and pastors to social justice leaders and veterans, the Humans of Adventism series cuts directly to the heart of what unites all of us: the human experience.
