Northport Main Street Cottage Opens for Weekly Outreach

By Kathy Marson, Marzo 06, 2014

A Northport, Wash., ministry that prepares a weekly free vegan meal for their community held a grand opening on Feb. 6, 2014, for the newly purchased Northport Main Street Cottage, which will be refurbished this summer. Patty Marsh, Upper Columbia Conference Adventist Community Services director, attended the meal and event at the Northport Main Street Cottage and reports that it was delicious and exciting event.

With a population of 295 in Northport, about 90 people each week attend the meal. Volunteers hold a weekly class also on a topic of art, music or health. They also run a small thrift store that helps defray the cost of the meals.
