A dedication ceremony for “God’s Miracle Playground” was held on Dec. 18, 2010, at 12:30 p.m. at Desert View Christian School in Mountain Home, Idaho, for new playground equipment. Paulette Jackson, Idaho Conference education superintendent, helped cut the ribbon with students and staff.
The playground is truly a miracle. Four students raised more than $1,700 dollars. They received donations from many people totaling more than $8,500, with the largest single donation being $4,000. Equipment was donated and people volunteered time and talents to make this happen. The company providing p-gravel gave a 40 percent discount. The company providing the swing set and jungle gym gave a $960 discount.
Students planned, measured, marked, shoveled dirt, and moved rock and gravel in preparation for the dedication. During the 10 months students said a lot of prayers for items needed and prayers of thanksgiving.
Carrie Tow, DVCS teacher, acknowledges she used the experience to teach math, science, physics and, most of all, God.
Students would like to say thank you to all who helped make this playground a reality. And, above all, they praise the Lord. DVCS is a one-room Adventist School with seven students located in the basement of Mountain Home Church.
